Training Opportunities / Accredited Site Information Queensland

Queensland has a statewide training programme in Geriatric Medicine and now has a statewide medical co-ordinator of Advanced Training. The aims of the programme are to improve the quality of training in Geriatric Medicine and to promote high quality and diverse training opportunities that exist across the state. Candidates should continue to apply to each training site for a position.

Queensland has a training program in Geriatric Medicine that is based on the FRACP Geriatric Medicine Advanced Training curriculum and is overseen by a Geriatric Medicine Education and Training Reference Group. The program occurs on Wednesday afternoons for 1.5 hours, excluding the last Wednesday of each month. Trainees can attend training via video conference facilities available at each training site.
